OSX.RSPlug.D trojan (or simply RSPlug.D) is one of the rare evidences that Mac computers can be infected too.
OSX.RSPlug.D spreads like many trojans dedicated to Windows OS: it is masked as video codec needed to watch movies downloaded from various websites. This fake video codec is usually distributed on porn websites. Fortunately, RSPlug.D trojan has to be downloaded and installed manually, so the infection is easy to avoid.
OSX.RSPlug.D is a downloader trojan. It connects itself to a remote server and downloads additional malwares.
OSX.RSPlug.D hides under different filenames. The easiest way to delete OSX.RSPlug.D from your Mac is to search for it on Computer->System->Library. Arrange entries by “Date Modified” and look for codec installed on certain date. RSPlug trojan also has to be erased from User->Library->Internet Plug-Ins.
