Patahme is an Internet worm that spreads by e-mail through messages with infected attachments. Once executed, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system and runs a spreading routine. It sends out spam letters with infected files attached. Those letters can be in Malay or Indonesian. Patahme can also propagate through removable media, via network shares and by copying itself to local folders. The worm carries a payload. It hides Microsoft Word documents and attempts to delete executables and system files. Furthermore, it modifies system settings and disables the Task Manager and the Registry Editor. The parasite may also open certain web pages. Patahme runs on every Windows startup.
