A Remote Administration Tool is a special kind of hacker spyware, used for remote access and control of other people's computers. The attacker infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. A "server" allows him to connect via a "client" on his own machine. The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. Some RATs can't really harm your PC and the only purpose they were made for is hooliganism. But some versions can steal vital information, delete files and even crash your system. Several versions of this pest can be found in the internet (Pinkle 1.0, Pinkle 1.0 (0010), Pinkle 1.0 (0020)). The programming language is Visual Basic. The pest originated in March 2005.

ServerDEV.exe - This is the windows that shows Pinkle, nothing special, harmless, but its for testing ServerJustHidden - Shown in Ctrl-Alt-Del window, but the window of Pinkle is hidden ServerRealDeal.exe - The entire server does everything, just place it in some folder and once you load it, it will load up everytime you start up on that computer *Be Careful* (use msconfig.exe to drop it) ServerRegInDel.exe - The server starts up everytime, but you can close it anytime since it is visible from the Ctrl-Alt-Del window. *Recommended* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Pinkle Rules!" - Ryan Staake, Founder of Melonsoft, Good Friend"
