A Remote Administration Tool is a special kind of hacker spyware, used for remote access and control of other people's computers. The attacker infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. A "server" allows him to connect via a "client" on his own machine. The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. Some RATs can't really harm your PC and the only purpose they were made for is hooliganism. But some versions can steal vital information, delete files and even crash your system. This pest was created by a hacker called r3l4x. He wrote the editor in Visual Basic 6 and the Stubs were created in C++. The source is included, so anyone can modify the RAT depending on his own needs. The origination date of this RAT is October 2003.

"Poly-DL v1.0 by r3l4x

Basically, Poly-DL is a semi polymorphic web downloader
that is very small. Its based on several different stubs,
each having a different ammount of empty space throughout
them. When the server is made, that space is filled in
with random characters then packed, thus producing a
different server every time and a psudo polymorphic
affect. There is the option to mess up the packed header
and add junk bytes at the end of the file too. To create
a greater polymorphic affect, select the 15kb option,
10kb for a lesser affect, ect. 0 Bytes produces the
smallest server (1kb!) but has the least ammount of randomness.
