PowerStrip is an additional Internet Explorer toolbar that downloads commercial content and additional files. It can automatically update itself via the Internet. PowerStrip can be manually installed or may get into the system along with some ad-supported software. Once executed, it creates a directory, drops files there and modifies the Windows registry to register itself with Internet Explorer. PowerStrip is rather unwanted than parasitical program. Nevertheless, it shouldn't be on your computer.

• Stays resident in background

Automatic PowerStrip removal:

PowerStrip/PSSetup and PowerStrip/PSOCX are two different versions of the ActiveX installer control used to install the toolbar and commission hijacker. Installed by ActiveX drive-by downloads in pop-up advertisements. Can download and install arbitrary unsigned code, as an update mechanism.

Connects to its controlling server at verschk.com to ask for software and target list updates.

I want to uninstall powerstrip but no matter what I do, it does not uninstall. How do I get this off my computer? Please reply asap. thanks
