Protection Center is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as Paladin Antivirus and Your Protection scareware. As a typical rogue program, it will claim that your computer is infected with spyware, adware and malware in order to trick you into purchasing the program. Protection Center is promoted mainly through the use of Trojans, fake online scanners and similar malware. Once installed, this fake anti-spyware program will simulate a system scan and report numerous infections on your computer. Actually, it detects harmless or even Windows system files as infections, that's why you shouldn't manually remove any of them. And of course, you shouldn't buy ProtectionCenter, it's nothing more but a scam and it obviously won't make your computer more secure. Instead, please remove Protection Center from your PC as soon as possible either manually or with an automatic removal tool. Read the removal instructions below.

When running, Protection Center will display many fake security alerts and pop-ups claiming that your computer is under attack from a remote computer or that your sensitive information cab be stolen. That's obviously not true. Some of the fake security alerts read:

What is more, the rogue program may block legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software and certain Windows system tools to protect itself from being removed. You may have to reboot you computer is safe mode with networking in order to download and run an anti-spyware program. Besides, the rogue program will probably hijack Internet Explorer and redirect you to various misleading websites full of false information and advertisements. Most importantly, don't purchase it. If you have already bought this fake program then please contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. Then, please follow the removal instructions below to remove Protection Center from your computer as soon as possible.

1. Restart your computer. As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, tap "F8" key constantly. Use the arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode with Networking" option as shown in the image below, and then press ENTER.
