Protection Center is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as Paladin Antivirus and Your Protection scareware. As a typical rogue program, it will claim that your computer is infected with spyware, adware and malware in order to trick you into purchasing the program. Protection Center is promoted mainly through the use of Trojans, fake online scanners and similar malware. Once installed, this fake anti-spyware program will simulate a system scan and report numerous infections on your computer. Actually, it detects harmless or even Windows system files as infections, that’s why you shouldn’t manually remove any of them.
