RealSearch is a trojan that displays fake alert messages and pop-up windows stating that malicious activity has been detected on the compromised computer. These messages and windows are intended to trick the user into purchasing corrupt anti-spyware program. The parasite also monitors Internet Explorer windows in attempt to detect certain keywords. If RealSearch finds such keywords, it highlights them and displays unsolicited pop-up advertisements. The trojan is able to download from the Internet and install other malicious parasites. RealSearch continuously contacts predefined web sites in order to retrieve specific instructions and notify its authors that the computer RealSearch runs on is infected. RealSearch properties:
• Shows commercial adverts
• Connects itself to the internet
• Hides from the user
• Stays resident in background
