Record Checker. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

by ,   Also known as RecordChecker, ads by Record Checker, Record Checker ads, Record Checker virus | Type: Adware

What is Record Checker?

Record Checker (can also be found as RecordChecker) is a potentially unwanted application, which has been added to 2spyware blog because of the following reasons. While it is wrong to call this application a 'virus' or 'malware', we don't recommend downloading it or keeping it on the system. We say so because this program can easily initiate serious issues for its users. Those who have been convinced to install Record Checker virus on their machines should be prepared for annoying pop-up ads and redirects to questionable websites. In addition to that, this program may be used for redirecting people to suspicious, unsafe and similar websites, so you should stay away from Record Checker ads as far as you can. In addition to that, this program may start tracking people's browsing experience and then may collect various data that is useful for unknown parties. Who would need such information as people's browsing habits, mostly visited websites, data that they enter when visiting these websites, PC's IP address, location, etc. If you want to prevent this, you have to remove Record Checker from your computer without any delay.

How can Record Checker hijack my computer?

Just like any other application that has been included to potentially unwanted program, adware, browser hijacker and similar categories, Record Checker can be downloaded from its homepage or other site that has been involved to its distribution. Typically, it is promoted as a tool that is capable of improving people's browsing experience. However, you should also have in your mind that this program may also infiltrate your machine in a bundle with freeware and shareware. This method is usually executed without asking an appropriate user's permission and it is called bundling. For avoiding it, you have to be very careful when installing freeware on your computer. You should read such information as Privacy Policy, End User's license agreement and similar data. Also, you should select Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware and then carefully check what pre-checked check marks are listed. Of course, you should uncheck all suspicious check marks. Once inside and active, Record Checker virus may start initiating various activities: it may start tracking its victim, may start generating pop-up advertisements when visiting commercial and not commercial websites, may also initiate browser's redirects to unknown websites and similar activities. Remember, if you are one of these Internet users, who have discovered Record Checker adware on your computer out of nowhere, you should remove this application from it. For that, follow this guide:
