This is a Remote Administration Tool that is used by hackers to control the victim's machine remotely. The possibilities of such programs depend on the needs of the attacker. The attacker infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. A "server" allows him to connect via a "client" on his own machine. The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. Some RATs can't really harm your PC and the only purpose they were made for is hooliganism. But some versions can steal vital information, delete files and even crash your system. The pest was created as an annoyance tool. It can not harm the computer or any information. The author is a hacker called MalFunction. The origination date is July 2001.

"RegFun is a very simple program, created to get access to lamerz on LAN partys. It looks like a folder but it is actually a program that enables the remote administration via registry. This won't ever be recognized as trojan or virus coz it does nothing bad. The victim needs to restart his computer in order that the changes take effect (use a nuker or something like that). The default password is 'vxrulez', change it if you want. After the program has made the changes it waits some time and then shows a fake error messagebox. You should change the message to your language. The program does NOT work on winNT/win2K coz there's no remote admin option on these systems."
