Safe Browsing ads Removal Guide

What is Safe Browsing ads?

Is it safe to use Safe Browsing add on?

You may think that Safe Browsing virus is a helpful add-on which is ready to protect you during your searches. It is identical to Browsing Secure and Browser Utility. Unfortunately, but security experts don’t think so, no matter that its name includes “safe” word. In fact, they recommend people to remove this thing from the system because this is a potentially unwanted program which is capable of tracking its victims and causing redirects to sponsored websites. However, the most annoying thing related to this PUP is Safe Browsing ads that are used to redirect people to affiliate websites. No matter that they seem safe, EULA of this adware warns: “Please be advised that the Offers provided through the Service may contain Third Party Content, therefore, Safe Browsing 1 Ltd. cannot warrant that they are accurate, relevant or that they are the lowest prices available world-wide.” Of course, you should also beware that the developers of this adware cannot guarantee that third party content displayed thru its service is safe.

Ads that are caused by this adware are typically displayed in a form of boxes, banners, pop-ups, underlined hyperlinks and similar sorts of ads. While this might seem like an annoying feature diminishing your browsing experience, there are other traits which justify the fact that this application is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). These sponsored ads are displayed only when Safe Browsing stops tracking you and your activity on the Internet. Typically, it collects information related to people’s search terms, mostly visited websites, login data, and similar details that should never be revealed to unknown parties. Worst of it is that some of the information you provide on the websites might be personally identifiable. If you want to protect yourself from the loss of personal and non-personal information and avoid annoying alerts, you should remove Safe Browsing from your computer without wasting your time. To get rid of this adware as soon as possible, use the trustworthy specialized tool like FortectIntego.

Can this adware infiltrate my computer?

Unfortunately, but the answer is “yes”. Just like any other adware, Safe Browsing can be installed without your permission. While trying to hijack systems, distributors of such programs employ a deceptive distribution technique called “bundling.” Therefore, you initially download some program that you want to install, but it is bundled with some other potentially unwanted programs which are installed as well. This is usually achieved by hiding these unwanted programs in “Custom” and “Advanced” options. Since most of the users skip most of the steps of the installation process, it creates a backdoor for various potentially harmful programs to enter your computer. You should also avoid all sorts of download managers and installers that are famous for distributing bundled programs and download software only from its official website. Please, be careful with Softonic, CNET, InstallRex and similar installers. If you have been suffering from this adware for a while, make sure you perform Safe Browsing removal on your computer without wasting your time.

How to prevent from getting adware

Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool

Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.

Lost your files? Use data recovery software

While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.

To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.
