Saristar is a dialer that connects an affected computer to the Internet via a high-cost telephone number. This parasite accesses adult resources without asking for user permission. Saristar can secretly get into the system from some unsafe web sites. Once executed, it drops its files to the system directory (C:\Windows\System, C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\System32) and modifies the Windows registry. Saristar has additional payload. It can corrupt some executable files by changing their extension. Parasite's activity may result in high phone bills.
