SaveDefender is installed through the use of Trojan that displays fake security alerts. The Trojan-Downloader downloads a Rootkit as well. Once installed, the rogue security application will be automatically configured to scan your computer each time you log on into Windows. It will reports absolutely harmless files as security threats. To make things even worse, SaveDefender will impersonate Windows Security Center and display fake security alerts and notitifications claiming that the system is unprotected. The program will state that anti-virus software is disabled and that you must purchase SaveDefender to ensure full PC protection. Fake security alerts read: "Security Center Alert! Infiltration Alert! Your computer is being attacked by an Internet Virus. It could be a password-stealing attack, a trojan-dropper or similar." "Spyware Alert! Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click here to register your copy of SaveDefender and remove spyware threats from your PC." What is more, Save Defender will block certain security websites and antivirus software. It will slow down your computer too. As you can see SaveDefender is nothing more but a scam.
