SearchPounder is a spyware parasite that monitors user activity in the Internet and records keywords that the user enters into popular Internet search engines and various web sites. SearchPounder sends gathered data to its home server. The parasite can be installed by some advertising programs. Once executed, it drops its files into the system directory (C:\Windows\System, C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\System32) and modifies the registry, so that the threat runs on every Windows startup.
