SearchScout Toolbar is a relatively harmless Internet Explorer plugin providing a web search service. It displays commercial pop-up advertisements. SearchScout Toolbar must be manually installed. It may also be distributed through ActiveX drive-by downloads and therefore may get into the system while visiting some insecure web sites. The plugin runs every time the user launches Internet Explorer.
