glad i found this page. ended sysguard.exe process and found it in c:/windows folder and deleted it. seems to be gone. thanks

using Internet Exoplorer 7 basic (no upgrades)
not sure if firefox will prevent it, but am fairly certain
havent tried these instructions yet

Info worked great!!! I downloaded "Kapersys" free trial of their full online security software, then deleted the registry key listed above, and everything is working fine!! NOTE: The reason for Kapersky was to remove the worm, then the rest was easy...
