I have a PC that became infected with this problem. I actually had none of the above processes running, but I did have sysguard.exe (slightly different from the sysguardn.exe listed above). I killed it, folowed the rest of the steps, and now it's all gone. Thank you!

I got this virus 10 minutes ago. On my moms laptop. And deleted already! Thanks to the steps to remove. Thank you great people on this site. U saved me 90 bucks to remove a virus!

I got bit by this one too. I was able to remove it now I'm stuck with comui.dll that had taken over and can't find any help.

I also found an entry in the HOSTS file for 195.245.119.131 browser-security.microsoft.com, this needs to be removed.
It hooks into IE so you need to unregister the DLL and remove the registry key
regsvr32 /u iehelper.dll

in regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run showed me a value called system tools, but the location was c:/WINDOWS/sysgaurd.exe

I had this malware but none of those processes or registry entries appeared on my computer. Both the process and registry entry were called 'sysguard.exe' once every reference to that was removed from the registry and the file folder manually deleted it was gone.

I didn't have the processes running, but there were registry values for all but one of them. Additionally, there was salrtybek, so it's probably a process to kill as well.

Malware Bytes is actually great software, but this is one of those malwares that is "smart" and knows that you're trying to run a removal tool, and it keeps it from ever opening. I recommend also using SDFix and Combofix to clean this type of infection.
