Worm Tanatos spreads across the Internet. It comes in infected e-mail messages. Such messages can be without any attachments: the worm can install itself to the system immediately when a user opens the message for reading. Tanatos sends itself to e-mail addresses found in a system and places infected executables on remote shared disks. It has an integrated backdoor, which can be used by attackers to get the full control over your computer. It also terminates all antivirus and security-related programs processes. Some versions of this worm can infect various software and system files.

• Allows remote user connection
• Sends out logs by FTP or email
• Hides from the user
• Stays resident in background
