TrustedProtection is a rogue anti-spyware program, which essentially means it's a fake spyware removal program, which uses scare tactics to convince (or rather intimidate) the user into buying the "licensed version".

TrustedProtection usually gets installed using Trojans, by exploiting browser security holes. These trojans are cleverly disguised as media codecs.

Once active on a computer, TrustedProtection will proceed to bombard the user with popups and fake system notifications, all of which claim there is an infection on the system. The user is then asked whether he wants to buy TrustedProtection to get rid of these non-existent threats.

TrustedProtection is an obvious scam: it's homepage has no contact information and the domain is registered to a nameless person. Do NOT download or buy TrustedProtection and block trustedprotection.com using your HOSTS file.
