What is UpdatesJava.com?

UpdatesJava.com is a marketing platform, which may cause lots of annoying ads during your browsing. These ads may start interrupting you with notifications about missing updates and similar things right after this marketing platform is misused by cyber criminals. Because of these annoying ads and other questionable activities, people have even started to call UpdatesJava.com a pop-up virus. In reality, can also be used for showing legitimate ads and notifications. In most of the cases, malicious UpdatesJava.com ads appear on the system once people are tricked into downloading related browser plugin. Once it hijacks each of web browsers, it may start causing misleading messages that must be ignored and never trusted if they report about missing updates or programs. Please, stay away from UpdatesJava.com ads that claim that you have to update your Java, Flash Player, one of your web browsers or similar program because there is a huge possibility that they will trick you into downloading suspicious and useless applications, such as adwares and browser hijackers.

If you really think that you need to update your Java, Flash Player or similar program, you should go straight to its official website and download this update from it. We highly recommend avoid such ads that may show up on your PC’s desktop out of nowhere. Remember that UpdatesJava.com pop-up ads are mostly displayed to make people install useless programs that can be included to ‘adware’ or ‘browser hijacker’ category. Beware that such ads may trick you into downloading WebCake, Delta Search, Lucky Leap and similar applications that belong to ‘PUP’ category. If you have been tricked into downloading any of them, you should scan your computer with updated anti-spyware and remove all suspicious entries. For that we recommend using Reimage (Windows OS) or Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (Windows and Mac OS X).

How can UpdatesJava.com hijack my computer?

UpdatesJava.com pop-up ads are caused by a browser plugin, which is typically installed on all web browsers that can be found on the system. In most of the cases, people download such browser plugins in a bundle with freeware and shareware, so you should start double checking each of freewares before its installation. The easiest way to prevent such infiltration, is to choose a Custom or Advanced installation method and then look for check marks that say that you agree to install UpdatesJava.com and similar adware. If this plugin enters computer, it modifies several system settings and starts interrupting people with its ads. Please, never believe such notifications and never click ‘Download’, ‘Run Update’ or ‘Click to install now’ buttons! Otherwise, you may lead your PC to the infiltration of malware.
