Title: USAntispy

Type: Spyware
Severity scale:USAntispy severity is 68  (68 / 100)

USAntispy is a rogue security software related with Active Antivir. We wrote about this parasite couple of days ago. These two products were created by Ormond Systems Limited. USAntispy is advertised as reliable anti-spyware program with a powerful firewall and award-wining virus detection engine. Of course, that's not true. Some of the statements on its homepage may sound ridiculous. For example: The technology of USAntispy was originally developed in the laboratories of NASA in the 1980s - for use on military computers and a variety of aerospace projects. What is more, this rogue uses logotype and other elements similar to those used by the United States government agencies to add more reliability to this rogue product.

USAntispy is a scam. This program is advertised through the use of trojans and other malware. Usually, these trojans display fake security alerts or other pop-ups stating that your computer is seriously infected. The rogue may be also promoted on various malicious websites that provide free online anti-malware scanners. Of course, USAntispy can be installed together with other rogue applications or it may be simply downloaded from its home page.

Once installed, USAntispy will ostensibly scan your computer and display numerous infections. The scan results are false. The program will show various fake threats, but the real infection, though, is USAntispy itself. To make things worse, this parasite will implement even more misleading methods. Firstly, it will constantly display very annoying pop-ups and warnings about serious security issues and that your computer is under attack. Then this parasite will hijack the Internet Explorer and redirect you to various untrusted websites that promote this rogue product. Last, but not least, USAntispy may modify Windows HOST file and open fake reviews.

It should be already obvious that USAntispy must be removed from your computer upon detection. It uses various misleading methods to trick you into purchasing the program. However, we strongly recommend you not to do so. Instead, please follow the removal guide below and delete USAntispy from your computer for free.
