WinActive AntiVirus is a rogue anti-spyware application. It uses false system scan results in order to scare the owner of the infected computer into thinking that his PC is seriously infected by malware, spyware or other parasites. Of course, in reality these infections do not actually exist. Usually, WinActive AntiVirus is advertised through the use of Trojans or pop-ups when browsing the web. These pop-up notifications state that your computer might be or is already infected and suggest to download WinActiveAntiVirus for infections removal.

Once WinActive AntiVirus is installed and active, it is configured to perform a fake system scan automatically when Windows starts. The rogue then reports bogus scan results and displays fake security notifications. Obviously, these issues cannot be removed until you purchase a license of WinActive AntiVirus, but it is recommended not to do so. WinActive AntiVirus is a scam, it won't remove any infections simply because it is an infection itself.
