Windows Security Suite Removal Guide

What is Windows Security Suite?

Windows Security Suite – a malicious program that infiltrates users' PCs without consent

Windows Security Suite

Windows Security Suite is a rogue anti-spyware program advertised and installed through the use of malware. The program was created by the same group of people who have released Spyware Protect 2009 and Antivirus System Pro previously.

Windows Security Suite is just another scam used by scammers to scare you into buying this useless application. Most importantly, you should not even think about purchasing it. It is a waste of time and money, as it will not protect you from any type of real malware and might also provide a false sense of security.

Name Windows Security Suite
Type Rogue antispyware, scam
Distribution Already installed Trojans, fake scanners, software bundles, malicious websites
Symptoms Shows false scan results in order to make users believe that their systems are badly infected and need fixing; offers to remove the fake viruses after program's full version is purchased
Removal You can uninstall
System fix If your computer starts to malfunction after malware is eliminated, scan it with FortectIntego

Once installed, malware will modify certain Windows registry entries to protect itself. Basically, it will disable or make it difficult to run such security applications as (it might be rather difficult for you to remove Windows Security Suite with these programs):

  • Kaspersky Antivirus
  • Avast
  • DrWeb
  • Symantec
  • Panda
  • Zone Alarm
  • McAfee and others.

To avoid this, you should either access Safe Mode or employ alternative security solutions – we recommend trying SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner.

While running, this parasite will ostensibly scan your computer and display numerous infections. These infections, though, are all fake. Common detection names include Trojan-IM.Win32.Faker.a, Trojan-Spy.HTML.Bankfraud.ra, Trojan.BAT.AnitV.a, and many others. Unsurprisingly, all these detections would be marked as “High” or “Critical threat level.

It's just an old trick used by almost all rogue applications to make you believe that your PC is infected. What is more, the program will constantly display fake security alerts. These alerts will pop-up every 1-2 minutes and won't go away very easily. Here are a few examples you might see when dealing with this annoying program:

Unauthorized remote connection! Your system is making an unauthorized personal data transfer to remote computer!

Windows Security Suite Process Control An unidentified program is trying to access system process address space

WindowsSecuritySuite will also hijack your Internet browsers. It will create a custom and, of course, fake search tool. In Internet Explorer, this tool is very similar to Windows Live search. In Firefox, it impersonates the Google search tool.

The search results come from Search-gala.com instead of Google or Windows Live search. Some of these search results may be links to malicious software or another parasite. Thus, to properly terminate all unwanted activities, don't forget to clean your web browsers. You can do it manually, as we explain below, or employ FortectIntego for a quicker option.

Terminate Windows Security Suite as soon as possible

If your computer is already infected with this rogue program, please use the removal guide below. It explains in detail how to get rid of the rogue and related components from your PC. Keep in mind that the program might not show up under the list of installed apps.

In such a case, we strongly recommend you employ a powerful antivirus program and perform a full system scan. Most up-to-date security apps should be capable of finding and deleting all the malware components automatically for you. Not only is it more effective, but it will also save you a lot of time.

You may remove virus damage with a help of FortectIntego. SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner and Malwarebytes are recommended to detect potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.

How to prevent from getting rogue antispyware

Stream videos without limitations, no matter where you are

There are multiple parties that could find out almost anything about you by checking your online activity. While this is highly unlikely, advertisers and tech companies are constantly tracking you online. The first step to privacy should be a secure browser that focuses on tracker reduction to a minimum.

Even if you employ a secure browser, you will not be able to access websites that are restricted due to local government laws or other reasons. In other words, you may not be able to stream Disney+ or US-based Netflix in some countries. To bypass these restrictions, you can employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN, which provides dedicated servers for torrenting and streaming, not slowing you down in the process.

Data backups are important – recover your lost files

Ransomware is one of the biggest threats to personal data. Once it is executed on a machine, it launches a sophisticated encryption algorithm that locks all your files, although it does not destroy them. The most common misconception is that anti-malware software can return files to their previous states. This is not true, however, and data remains locked after the malicious payload is deleted.

While regular data backups are the only secure method to recover your files after a ransomware attack, tools such as Data Recovery Pro can also be effective and restore at least some of your lost data.
