WORM_RANSOM.FD may be downloaded from certain remote websites by other malware or it can be download unknowingly by a user when visiting untrusted websites. Once installed, it will modify Windows registry entries to enable its automatic execution when Windows starts. This worm will gathers all email addresses from cached email messages, address books, and mail boxes. Then WORM_RANSOM.FD will send email messages with a copy of itself as attachment to all contacts from address book. It sends the following email messages:

"SUBJECT:
You are a very lucky man, read this mail!

BODY:
Hi, you won a big amount of money!!! If you want to know more look at the attachment!

ATTACHMENT:
BigCashForYou.exe"
