I've found a process by the name of spoolsv. When I delete this along with istsvc, istsvc doesn't come back. However, an internet description says that this file controls options with the printer, but can also let in trojans. I'm suspicious, but wary to delete the traces of this file.

Is there any chance this could be the parent file or istvsc for me, or should i leave it alone?

Any help at all on how to get rid of this horrible pest would be much appreciated.

Is there any chance the parent file might be called spoolsv? When I ended this file and the istsvc file from the task manager, istsvc didn't come back. I want to see if I should go ahead and delete any traces of this or not before causing potential damage.

Any other information would help.

I solve the problem in this way:

1. Download freeware StartupRun at http://nirsoft.mirrorz.com/

2. Run the program

3. A list of programs run on startup will be displayed

4. Disable the malware.

I believe this thing, with it's own autoupdater, is changing it's own registry enteries constantly. I have virus and spyware detection/protection but it isn't picking it up.

i had it as c:windowsszchost.exe
and in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun registry entry was "Zone system"
