The overview of Yarhoot.com features:

Noticing that your default homepage has changed and your browser started behaving strangely can only mean one thing — you are infected with Yarhoot.com virus. It is a browser hijacker [1], and the problem with such viruses is that they often do not look like anything suspicious. In fact, their creators try to make these websites as appealing as possible and equip them with supposedly useful features and attractive design. Yarhoot is one of these programs. It is introduced as a tool that provides users with faster and more accessible web browsing capabilities. But the site is more deceptive and dangerous than it is actually useful. One of the primary aspects that make this site undesirable is the stealthy system infiltration [2]. To be fair, users rarely choose to install the program themselves as the hijacker appears on the computers without directly inquiring for the permission first. Then follows the next stage of the infiltration — the takeover of the browser’s settings. These changes may include replacement of the default browser domain with Yarhoot website and potential installation of the so-called helper objects [3] (toolbars, browser extensions, add-ons) that later help the hijacker sustain these alterations. However, no browser hijacker can overpower the sophisticated anti-malware software like Reimage. Thus, we recommend using this tool or some similar application to remove Yarhoot.com from your computer smoothly.

There are more negative characteristics of this program that cause difficulties for the victims of the Yarhoot.com hijack, apart from unauthorized system takeover. For instance, the users cannot browse the web properly anymore because the web engine simply does not work as fast as before: it often freezes or crashes completely. On top of that, the search results which are supposedly powered by the well-known Yahoo search engine barely include any relevant information and are mostly filled with affiliate links. These links are included in the search to help Yarhoot.com redirect [4] more users to predetermined websites, boost their traffic and assist them in selling their products or services. Of course, such promotion earns Yarhoot some advertising revenue [5] as well. Otherwise, it would probably not get involved in such business in the first place. Though advertisers and the advertised companies benefit from such collaboration, it brings little satisfaction for the users, who have to work hard to make their way through irrelevant links to get to the essential information. We should remind you that dealing with such inconveniences is not obligatory and you can get back to your preferred way of browsing by carrying out Yarhoot.com removal. So, don’t hesitate and get started!

Browser hijacker infiltration practices:

The basic infiltration practices that Yarhoot.com or, frankly, any browser hijackers are known for mainly include system infiltration using some carrier programs. It might be any popular freeware or shareware package, software update or a drive-by download that brings Yarhoot.com on the computer. Thus, you should be very careful about what you agree to install on your computer and how you carry out the installation as well. We recommend checking the downloaded software for potentially unwanted components via “Advanced” installation settings, additionally scanning the device with an automatic malware detection tool.
