Zlob.Media-Codec trojan infects computer when user visits a malicious website (usually it’s website for adults) or downloads video from such a source. Once it gets on a machine, Zlob.Media-Codec loads pop-ups offering either Windows Media Player upgrade or videos codecs download. If the infection reaches computer through downloaded video, the trojan informs a user that video can’t be viewed until new video codecs/ Windows Media Player are downloaded. What Zlob.Media-Codec actually downloads is neither video codecs nor video player. It downloads fake security tools that demand paying for using them. Remove Zlob.Media-Codec with no hesitation.
