The program integrates advanced real-time protection and strong parasite detection engine. Such combination makes ewido anti-spyware one of the most noteworthy security products on the market.The program thoroughly checks the Windows registry, running processes, web browser cookies and the entire file system. In our tests, Fast System Scan took about 5 minutes to complete, Memory Scan required 1 minute and 30 seconds, while Registry Scan completed in 5 seconds. The slowest and most resource-hungry mode is Complete System Scan. This scan requires up to one hour to complete. AVG Anti-Spyware implements a real-time protection monitor called the Resident shield. This monitor terminates malicious processes, scans files on execution, automatically removes tracking cookies and prevents unsolicited software from being secretly installed. The Resident shield can also block termination of AVG Anti-Spyware. The program comes with additional useful tools. Shredder is designed to delete user-selected files unrecoverably. Antispy, another integrated utility, allows modifying essential system and software settings. These settings are important for protecting user privacy and system security. However, most users are unfamiliar with them. ewido anti-spyware provides detailed, but yet easy-to-understand descriptions of these settings. Antispy can be configured to show only recommended settings, or also provide expert options, which inexperienced users shouldn't alter. AVG Anti-Spyware provides more additional utilities. It offers integrated tools for listing running processes, viewing system startup entries, current network connections and installed browser plug-ins. The program's interface is clean, attractive and user-friendly. AVG Anti-Spyware was noticeably improved compared to ewido anti-malware, a previous version that we have tested eight months ago. The new product is much more effective, reliable and feature-rich. It became one of the best spyware and malware removal tools on the market.
