MySpyFreePC uses false positives. Free version was tested on clean uninfected computer. Full system scan was performed. The application found 7 malicious files related to Zipclix Toolbar and HotLAN adware programs. Deep analysis showed that all detected executables actually were safe uninstall utilties associated with fully legitimate software. See screenshot below.
Different files with the same name unwise.exe were the parts of Ad-Aware SE, Spyware X-terminator and Aluria Spyware Eliminator spyware removers, licensed Homeworld2 computer game and popular Opera web browser. Another detected file ungins.exe was included in legitimate PartyPoker client.
During our test other strange issues of MySpyFreePC were discovered. Real-time monitor Defender has detected Opera browser as a suspicious process and asked to terminate it or leave running. We have refused, but then the "No" button disappeared leaving the single choice - to terminate legitimate application. Screenshots are provided below.
MySpyFreePC is made by eSunSoft Technologies. Vendors use it as a base to release re-branded clones, such as iSpyKiller or SamuraiSpy. Take a look on another screenshot taken from the official company site.
