SpywareKilla

SpywareKilla review

We have tested free version of SpywareKilla. This application doesn't use false positives and provide updates. However, we still DO NOT recommend it.

SpywareKilla is the same program as Protect Your Identity, Spyware C.O.P. and SpyBan. It has the same look, spyware defintions database and functions, produces similar scan results. It also is a knockoff of legitimate Ad-Aware antispyware.

Free version refuses to remove any malware it found and asks to purchase full product.

The official site spywarekilla.com looks suspicious. It contains hidden text and links to some third-party domains. Visitors can accidently follow such links. This can be called an aggressive advertising. Compare screenshots provided below.

Reputable spyware removers, such as SpyHunter or Ad-Aware detect SpywareKilla as scamware.

Initially, my copy of SpywareKilla mightily impressed me by identifying at least one hundred so-called offenders, including some files and entries in programs that I use to scan my system. These are programs that have proved useful to me in the pase. I unchecked them after purchasing the program. However, I never got the option to delete the real "vermin." I hit the "Backup" button and everything on the list disappeared without giving me the option to delete. Now, my PC Powerscan has been disabled. I ran another reliable scan (AdAware 6). AdAware found 18 new incidences of infection. Guess what. Seventeen of these beasties were files, registry entries and values belonging to SpywareKilla. SpywareKilla was, in effect, accused of promoting (or installing) hijackers, adware, malware and other nasty stuff. Now SpywareKilla, suspiciously, is nowhere to be found on my computer. It is not too difficult to figure out whom to believe. AdAware has served me well for years. Now, I suspect that SpywareKilla may be the enemy. While reading the SpywareKilla manual, I fell for the plea to be aware that other antispyware programs may identify other programs as being spyware due to the peculiarity of their internal configurations. Hmmmmm!
