SpywareXP

SpywareXP uses false positives. We have carefully tested the program on a few absolutely clean computers, which were never infected with any spyware threats or viral parasites. However, SpywareXP managed to detect three "malicious" objects: one registry entry purportedly related to a browser hijacker, one cookie file and the entire Internet Explorer cookie folder. Further analysis revealed that all these "threats" actually were safe objects related to fully legitimate web browsers - Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Furthermore, all cookies on our test system were associated with legitimate Internet resources, and did not pose any threat. See a screenshot provided below.

The free version of SpywareXP refuses to remove any malware it finds. It asks to register and purchase the full product.

SpywareXP is the same application as AlertSpy, AdwarePatrol, SpyDestroy Pro, SpywareRemoval, Doctor Adware and others. All these programs have identical interface, use the same spyware definitions database and produce very similar scan results. Installed files are terribly similar.
