Ultimate DefenderUltimate Defender review
Ultimate Defender produces false positives. We have tested the program on absolutely clean computer that was never infected with spyware, viruses or any other malicious parasites. However, Ultimate Defender managed to detect 2 threats - the SaveNow adware and the EventLog threat. The application did not provide the exact location of detected parasites. See a screenshot provided below.
The program uses ineffective malware detection engine. All three Quick, Normal and Full scans does not take more than 15 seconds. As you know, currently there are no such spyware remover that could scan the system so quickly. Furthermore, the number of detected spyware objects that Ultimate Defender displays in a warning message differs from the number of found parasites provided in a scan report. Take a look on another screenshot below. Ultimate Defender implements a real-time protection, which unfortunately cannot be enabled in a free version. The integrated Tracks Eraser tool and spyware definitions update function also do not work. The application refuses to remove any parasites it finds and asks to register and buy the full product. See a screenshot below. The application is a clone of KillSpy.net, XSRemover.com, SpyContra, SpyDeface and 1st Anti Virus. All these programs have almost identical graphical interfaces, produce nearly the same scan results and consist of terribly similar components. Ultimate Defender is made by the same company as AlfaCleaner and the infamous rogue product WinHound. The official web site is www.udefender.com.
