The product does not rise above similar products. It does not even provide real-time protection. Nevertheless, it manages to detect almost any kinds of spyware, adware and hijackers, including new, rapidly spreading parasites.XoftSpySE was noticeably improved in comparison with XoftSpy, the previous version that we have tested one year ago. The new product does not miss threats and actually removes found parasites. The program scans the Windows registry, running processes, files and folders on all local drives. It can perform full system scan or check only certain user-defined locations. XoftSpySE uses large spyware definitions database, which currently includes almost 43,300 pest signatures. It is updated on a regular basis. The program provides detailed information on each detected object. It shows the parasite's location, its author, type and danger level. XoftSpySE includes helpful functions, such as Scheduling, Ignore and Backup lists. It also offers simple, but effective protection for the Internet Explorer default safe settings, and prevents browser hijacks. The application's scan engine is reliable, but relatively slow. Full system scan on a regular modern computer can take up to 45 minutes. Selective scans are much quicker, but less thorough. The program has a simple, clean and quite attractive interface. I tried to use the free sample 5 times. It ran the course and every time I tried to finish it asked me for a set of registration numbers. When I clicked oh help, nothing happened. No thanks on this product.

I was infected with numerous spyware and viruses. Notabley "about:blank" hijacked my homepage and was an insidious. I was not able to remove this problem with this product on 6.10.06 - ended up downloading FREE Microsoft software Windows Defender Beta 2 and Maliciaous Virus Rremoval tool. Also am using a trial version of Windows Live OneCare. The only thing to remove this virus was a third party Microsoft free tool: "smitren" downloaded from noahdfear.geekstogo.com - Excellent tool and my computer is now running like a stealth. This had to be done in SAFE MODE NETWORKING.

I got xsoft spy, the non se version, it did not pick up lop adware! or P2P networking adware!
