I want to install a tool similar to Phishing Protector. However, I have some doubts whether this one can really be trusted because I have found several security sites reporting it for fraudulent activities. Could you please check Phishing Protector plug-in somehow?

We DO NOT recommend installing Phishing Protector add-on. It belongs to the 'adware' and 'potentially unwanted program' (PUP). Luckily, you haven't installed it yet because. If you would have done that, now you would have to fight against Phishing Protector ads, redirects, experience slowdowns, and similar inconveniences because its main purpose is to promote suspicious third parties and increase the rank of their websites. Also, it can be involved in the distribution of other potentially unwanted programs, so beware of it and NEVER install.
