AIGPUsniffer is an auxiliary process that is related to Adobe and its products, e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, etc. Users usually become familiar with it when they launch one of the Adobe products - the AIGPUsniffer icon briefly appears on the dock and the screen flashes. For that reason, users are concerned whether the activity is legitimate and is not a cause of concern.
Originally, AIGPUsniffer is created in order to check the GPU effectiveness - it simply checks if it is compatible with the app that users are trying to open. On itself, it is there to prevent crashes from appearing in the first place, although users complained that the process crashes itself, preventing the usage of the application. It has become especially common among Mac users who updated their systems to Mojave.
If you have been suffering from errors related to AIGPUsniffer, check this guide: https://ugetfix.com/ask/how-to-fix-aigpusniffer-quit-unexpectedly/. Carefully follow every step to see which method helps you to fix.
If you have not been experiencing any errors related to the process and simply see it shortly flashing before you open an app, there is no need to remove AIGPUsniffer from your Mac, as it is required for the essential checks. If you still want to terminate the process from your system, you would have to uninstall the application (for example, Illustrator CC 20XX) from your computer entirely.
To do that, please follow these steps:
1. Quit Adobe Illustrator or any other program associated with AIGPUsniffer
2. Go to the Applications folder
3. Select the Adobe product
4. Right-click and pick Move to Trash
5. Go to the following folder: Macintosh/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
6. Delete everything related to the application in question
7. Repeat the step 6 in the following folders: Library/Application Support/Adobe/; /Library/Preferences/; Library/Preferences/Adobe and Library/Caches/.
