1Player adware. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)
What is 1Player?
1Player by One Floor App Ltd is presented as a powerful Multimedia Player, which can play the majority of multimedia files, DVD, Audio CD, VCD, and so on. Unfortunately, security experts classify it as an adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). They ground such categorization on the fact that 1Player can infiltrate computers without being noticed and may initiate various unwanted activities behind your back. Once installed, it may take over all web browsers that are installed on your computer (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.), modify the main settings, sometimes may even replace homepage/search provider, and may install cookies on each of them. Consequently, you may not only start receiving deceptive commercial messages every time you browse the net, but you may continuously be tracked and monitored. We have managed to find out that 1Player virus uses tracking software in order to collect search terms, most frequently visited websites, data entered in them, search terms, email address, IP address, etc. with an intention to use gathered information for advertising purposes. Once it collects an appropriate amount of data, you may start receiving tons of ‘Ads by 1Player’, ‘1Player Ads’, ‘1Player Deals’, ‘Powered by 1Player’, and so on. Those ads are usually filled with items and services that you were looking for; therefore, you may get tricked into clicking on them. However, you should stay away from 1Player redirects because you can never know if you will be rerouted to reliable or suspicious websites. In the worst case scenario, you may be tricked into visiting websites, which may be involved in the distribution of PUPs. Even more, you should be aware of the fact that:
The download and installation of this app will be managed by the OneFloorApp install manager.
OneFloorApp is an independent software provider. The download and installation of your requested app may also include additional recommended software provided by 3rd parties that might be beneficial for you. Apps you choose to install will be downloaded to your computer and installed automatically.
Do you understand what does that mean? It means that 1Player virus will be installed on your computer along with other apps, for example, Current Weather Alert, PriceFountain, Super Optimizer, PastaLeads, Relevant Knowledge and many others. Therefore, if you have installed 1Player virus on your machine, we highly recommend you to run a full system scan with a reputable anti-spyware because your machine may be contaminated with a whole list of PUPs. For that, we recommend using either Reimage (Windows OS) or Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (Mac OS X).
How can 1Player hijack my computer?
1Player can be downloaded from the official website where its installation will be managed by the OneFloorApp about which we explained in the previous section. In addition to that, it may be installed in your computer along with other free apps. Fortunately, you can prevent this from happening by selecting Advanced/Custom installation option and deselecting ‘optional downloads’, such as browser add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars, and extensions.
How to remove 1Player virus?
1Player can be eliminated either manually or automatically. We highly recommend removing it using a reputable anti-spyware because only this way you will fix your machine fully. In case you are not willing to use additional software, you can use the guide that is given at the end of this article:
You can remove virus damage automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Malwarebytes MalwarebytesCombo Cleaner, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareMalwarebytes Malwarebytes.
