Ads by DigiHelp. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)
What is DigiHelp?
DigiHelp is a misleading application that may cause a real havoc on each of your web browser. Basically, it's just one of those programs promising to enhance web browsing experience in various way, but in reality only seeking to gain profit out of you. It can be added to all most popular web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. DigiHelp works as a browser add-on and is known for displaying an excessive amount of ads once inside. Users report that after installing this app they started receiving tens of pop-up, banner, in-text ads that appear randomly on every website that they visit. Be careful because 'Ads by DigiHelp' are not only annoying, but may also appear to be malicious. Even though they may seem appealing, you should not click on them due to the fact that you may be redirected to various suspicious websites some of which may even be owned by cyber criminals. Visiting unsafe websites may result in various issues, for example, you may end up installing virus or malware without even inspecting that, or if you would decide to buy something there, you may even get scammed. In most of the cases, DigiHelp ads are fake and used in order to redirect you to sponsored websites, increase their rank or sales, or generate pay-per-click revenue, so make sure that you ignore them. In addition to that, this plug-in travels alongside tracking cookies. As soon as it drops them on your web browsers, it starts monitoring your online behavior and collecting certain personally non-identifiable data that is necessary for improving affiliate marketing. Due to all these issues, DigiHelp virus has been categorized as an adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and you should avoid using it. If you have already installed it on your computer, you should run a full system scan with Reimage or another reputable anti-spyware as soon as possible because DigiHelp redirects may cause infiltration of other suspicious programs on your computer.
How can DigiHelp hijack my computer?
DigiHelp is a typical adware that travles bundled with other free software, such as various PDF creators, media players, download managers and so on. It is very important to select free programs and their download sources carefully because when you install freewares from suspicious-looking websites, there is a big possibility that you will run into bundled installers. Unfortunately, even reliable websites that are widely used among Internet users promote bundled installers, so the best thing is to install freewares from every download source extremely carefully. Do not skip any details and NEVER click the 'Next' button without reading the whole check box. Make sure that you select Advanced or Custom installation option. This selection will allow you to monitor the whole process and see all available check boxes. As a result, you will be able to deselect 'optional downloads' that may travel alongside your selected free software. If you spot notifications claiming that you accept with an installation of a plug-in, add-on, toolbar or extension, DO NOT accept it because it may be DigiHelp virus or any other program that you really don't want to have on your computer.
