AntiTroy. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as Anti Troy | Type: Rogue Antispyware

AntiTroy is a rogue antivirus application, please uninstall it as soon as possible using the removal guide below. The rogue program is pushed mostly via misleading websites, such as fake online scanners, fake video websites and etc. The scammers use social engineering methods to distribute their product too. The most targeted websites are FaceBook, MySpace, Friendster and some others. AntiTroy is usually installed with the help of Trojans that come from those misleading websites. Once installed, Anti Troy will supposedly scan your computer and report a list of infections that can be only removed with a full version if the program. Of course, that’s not true. AntiTroy is an infection itself and all its campaign is a total scam. Do not purchase this crap!

When running, AntiTroy will also impersonate Windows Security Center [Figure 2] and reports that AntiTroy is turned of. As you probably know, the legitimate Security Center only informs a user about system security risks, but does not promote any particular anti-virus software. Furthermore, this infection will flood your computer with very annoying and obviously fake security alerts. You will also see fake notifications from Taskbar stating that:

Spyware Alert!
Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your
critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click
here to register your copy of AntiTroy and remove spyware
threats from your PC.”

Well actually, the above notification was used by all the rogue applications from the WiniSoft family. Another problem that may also make this infections rather annoying is browser hijacking. That’s right, this parasite will redirect you to entirely different websites that you plan to visit.

There should be no doubts about AntiTroy and its harmful actions. This malware must be removed as soon as possible. Otherwise, it can download even more malware onto your computer. Please the manual removal guide or an automatic removal tool provided below and remove AntiTroy from your computer immediately. Contact your credit card company and dispute the charges if you have already purchased this bogus software.
