removal by Olivia Morelli - - | Type: Browser hijacker

If you have detected Asiastarter.com on your browser’s main page as you opened it, it is a sign that your PC was invaded by a potentially unwanted program (PUP) – browser hijacker. In such case, you need to reconsider if you want to use this unreliable search engine. We have received several complaints from PC users about it, so we decided to prepare a comprehensive description of this program.

Why is Asiastarter.com not considered to be a trustworthy search engine?

Our research team has explored this website and found out that it is a browser hijacker related search engine. Asiastarter.com hijacker collaborates with third-party companies that sponsor it. Therefore, Asiastarter.com PUP promotes the websites that belong to third-party sponsors. Asiastarter.com appears as a search engine, and actually it is no different from other search engines. However, it just looks the same but does not work the same. Asiastarter.com displays altered outcomes to its users, and such outcomes can initiate Asiastarter.com redirects to third-party websites. It is a well-known fact that such web pages can be unsafe, and computer professionals advise NOT to surf through them. Many unreliable websites promote unrealistic offers and try to attract the PC users with colorful advertisements. Some of such websites even promote infectious software, which can be harmful to user’s PC system. In this case, we recommend to take care of your computer safety in advance and get a program that is recommended by computer security experts – Reimage. It can detect and terminate malicious files and computer threats before they start their questionable activities on victim’s computer.

However, altered search results and redirects are not the only negative traits of this program. Asiastarter.com can secretly spy your browsing activity, look after you when you browse and record each action that you perform when using the Internet browser. For example, it can track your browsing history, downloads, search queries and other related information. We still do not know for what purposes does Asiastarter.com collect such data, but we assume that it is not safe to reveal such information for an application that is considered to be a potentially unwanted program. Plus, this application can significantly decrease your computer’s performance and cause slowdowns, so we highly doubt that you need this fake search engine.

Asiastarter.com

How could Asiastarter.com hijack my system?

Traditionally, PUPs are distributed with a very sneaky marketing technique that is still not well-known for inexperienced PC users. It is called bundling, and it means “packing several programs together.” Sadly, the bigger part of PC users trust “default,” “basic” or “standard” installation mode when installing new programs on their computers. Moreover, most people ignore the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions forms. It is a mistake, and you should not behave like that. Software bundles reveal the information about optional downloads in these documents, and if you skip them, do not be surprised if you end up with unexpected programs on your system. Furthermore, you should choose “custom” or “advanced” settings to install freeware or shareware correctly. However, the easiest way is to have a reliable anti-spyware on your system, which can eliminate such PC intruders as soon as they appear on your computer. However, if you want to find our the manual removal guide, please proceed to the next paragraph.

Ways to remove this browser hijacker:

Nonetheless, you can easily remove Asiastarter.com virus manually – just follow the steps below this article and eliminate it for good! Then, set another website as your browser’s main page.
