Avg.nation.com is a search site, which is closely related to Nation Toolbar. It can easily show up instead of your start page and default search engine after you absently install freeware on your computer. No matter that it looks trustworthy and legitimate, you may notice that this program initiates havoc when browsing on the Internet. Typically, it shows commercial pop-up advertisements and redirects people to unknown websites that are related to this site. Beware that Avg.nation.com returns altered search results and also has ability to collect information about users. If you want to avoid these and other problems that are caused by this website, we recommend avoiding Avg.nation.com. Howeever, we must add that it is NOT a virus.

HOW CAN Avg.nation.com APPEAR ON MY COMPUTER?

Avg.nation.com can be downloaded from legitimate websites that are used for describing and distributing programs. However, it may also get inside your machine in one pack with some free program from the Internet. In order to avoid this search engine, you should uncheck the checkbox, which agrees to download Nation Toolbar or make Avg.nation.com the start page or default search engine. If this program manages to get in, it modifies system's settings and starts working according to its needs. Once again, we don't recommend using Avg.nation.com. It would be wiser to remove this search engine from computer and rely on more reputable search sites.

Users who are infected with this AVG Nation malware need to be aware of the following.

I have previously removed this AVG Nation malware from my PC using the Control Panel uninstall method and the settings within the browsers on my PC etc.

AVG Free anti-virus has now updated again – and installed the AVG Nation software and settings back onto my PC.

Unfortunately – now it no longer appears in the Control Panel section to uninstall the AVG Nation software etc.

I am also now unable to remove the search engine settings from my browsers.

Beware when you remove it using the tool it takes out Chrome and your outlook pst file with it – and leaves avg nation right where it started.

I ve just uninstalled it, only to read both of the comments above. Oh well. Ill update if I have recurring symptoms.

    1) Uninstall every component from your current AVG.
    2) Restart your PC.
    3) Run ccleaners registry scan, and fix all issues.
    4) Download the newest version of AVG from their website.
    5) Install it, BUT, when installing, select ADVANCED, and uncheck all the tickboxes for the additional hijacking software (i.e., Nation, SafeSearch toolbar, AVG toolbar, etc.)
    6) Now youll have no issues.

The problem youre encountering is due to your AVG installation still thinking that you want Nation, etc., and when it cant find it when AVG itself updates, itll re-add it back on.

Also, I imagine that when youre complaining about it being re-installed in this case is when you updated from 2013 to 2014, which is effectively an entirely fresh install of the AVG software, and therefore those boxes still remained ticked.

This is how AVG affords to provide free AntiVirus software. It is optional though, but youre simply rushing through the installation process and missing it.

I cant even get it to uninstall. I no longer have AVG on my computer, but the AVG toolbar still pops up in my add/remove… When I click un install a window pops up, I click uninstall and it says “unsuccessful” and then shuts down anything internet related…

    Please halp?
