ByteDefender. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as ByteDefender Security 2010, Byte Defender | Type: Rogue Antispyware

ByteDefender is a rogue anti-spyware program from the notorious WiniGuard rogue family. Just like all the other rogue programs from this family, Byte Defender also reports false infections and displays fake security alerts to scare you into thinking that your computer is compromised or infected with malware. As a typical rogue anti-spyware program, it then prompts you to buy a full version of the ByteDefender in order to protect your computer from various malware or remove found viruses from your PC. Don’t trust it, because ByteDefender is nothing more but a scam. It won’t make your computer more secure simply because it’s an infection itself. If you find that your computer is infected with this bogus program, please use removal instructions below to remove ByteDefender manually or with an automatic removal tool.

ByteDefender is prompted mainly through the use of Trojans and other malicious software such as fake video codecs or flash updates. Most of the time, the rogue program must be manually installed, but in some cases it may enter PCs without users’ permission and consent. Once installed, ByteDefender Security 2010 will display fake security alerts and infections. It may disable Task Manager, Registry Editor and other tools too. Some security related websites can be blocked as well. Some of the fake security alerts will state that your personal information can be stolen or that your computer is under attack from the Internet. The homepage of
