I keep receiving fishy-looking pop-ups from Check-live24.net. I’ve checked my PC but didn’t manage to find a related program. Thus, even though I understand my system to be infected by some pest, I cannot remove it. I’m afraid I’m infected with a virus, aren’t I?

Check-live24.net pop-up ads. How to recognize them?

Check-live24.net is a URL address that may start delivering you alerts as if out of nowhere. The pop-ups usually claim that your PC is at the risk of virus infection or that you are about to be scammed. For example:

Warning: system may have found unauthorized access on your computer
Your system may have found (2) malicious viruses Root.Spyware and Trojan.malware
Your personal and financial information may NOT BE SAFE
For help call for professional technicians:
1-866-XXX-XXX (toll-free)

The reason you see such pop-up alerts is adware infection. Therefore, you should not fall for believing in such messages. Otherwise, upon calling for remote technical support, you may receive an increased telephone bill next month. Check-live24.net pop-up ads are considered to be a simple online scam, so NEVER call for a supposed toll-free number because it’s highly charged and the minute may cost you a lot.

In addition to support scam, Check-live24.net pop-up virus may warn you that your Java, Flash Player, Google Chrome or another popular software is out of date. This type of advertisements can mislead you and trick into installing other potentially unwanted programs, including but not limiting to adware. Thus, if you are tired of Check-live24.net redirects and pop-ups, we would recommend initiating a full system check with anti-malware. In this particular case, our recommendation would be to use Reimage as it has shown the greatest results in adware, PUP, virus, etc. detection.

How can I get infected with Check-live24.net pop-up virus?

Check-live24.net domain cannot be accessed on its own. If you would try to open it on your PC, you will be informed about “deceptive site ahead.” People who receive alerts powered by this address are infected with an adware-type program. People who have been following 2-spyware news probably known that adware programs (or ad-supported browser add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars, etc.) are typically spread bundled with freewares/shareware. These days, software packages are distributed on various peer-to-peer file and file-sharing websites, including the most popular ones (Cnet, Softonic, Soft32, Download, etc.). Therefore, if you are a security-minded person, you should either avoid freeware installation or perform it as carefully as possible. We will give you a couple of useful tips that can help you prevent Check-live24.net hijack:

  • Do not install unfamiliar software;
  • Do not trust fishy-looking download sources;
  • Read EULA, Privacy Policy, users reports and all other accessible information related to your chosen software;
  • Avoid Quick/Basic installation option;
  • Select Advanced/Custom installation option;
  • Read all check boxes and opt out of unwanted activities and don’t skip less visible information.
  • Finally, don’t forget to uncheck ticks that are marked alongside additional toolbars, plug-ins, add-ons, extensions.

What actions should I take to stop those pop-ups from covering my webpage?

Check-live24.net pop-up virus can be surpassed only by removing an adware that is related to it. There is no other solution. The problem is that it’s not clear which program causes the pop-ups, so it may be difficult to detect and remove it. If there are more than one unknown app, you may have to remove each of them. Consequently, to make good for your PC, you can make bad for yourself by removing the wrong apps.

However, there is a better solution. You can perform Check-live24.net removal automatically with the help of a trustworthy anti-malware. at first I thought those pop-up ads by Check-live24.net are genuine. Naturally, i clicked on those that required to update java and media player. It goes without saying what happened next.. more ads started showing during my browsing. The only way that helped me to get rid of them were anti-malware.

  • Pichu0320

    Check-live24.net are brought by cyber criminals. believe me! Thats not the first time when I have a pop-up virus on my PC, so I known that they can lead to virus infection. The last time I caught FBI virus and lost lots of personal files.
