News about Contact-microsoft.com tech support scam virus

Tech support scammers are still actively distributing malicious programs like Contact-microsoft.com virus. They create websites that look similarly to Microsoft Support page and promote them via adware-type programs that make web browsers launch such sites repeatedly. In this case, the virus randomly launches or redirects the user to Contact-microsoft.com/help-microsoft/ site, which encourages the victim to ask questions about the computer problems to get professional help from “experienced Microsoft technicians.” The victim can get in touch with scammers via +44-800-090-3255 or 1-858-430-8516 number. However, you should never dial neither of them because they will only connect you with scammers that pretend to be Microsoft’s employees. They just say that they work there, then they ask the victim to explain what’s wrong with the computer, and simply acts like they’re professionals that know how to fix all computer problems, the victim just needs to prepare the money.

Typically, to impress the victim with their “computing skills,” they command the victim to perform series of meaningless tasks, for instance, open Registry Editor, Microsoft System Configuration Utility or simply deeper system directories and do something there. An inexperienced computer user can get confused and come to believe that it is better to rely on these “professionals,” which state that they know how to fix the computer. Sometimes they suggest buying certain software for a large sum of money or give them access to the computer via remote control tools. You should never buy any programs suggested to you by a stranger over the phone, as well as provide access to the PC. As soon as the scammer gets access to the computer system, he can quickly install malware like ransomware on the system and leave. Therefore, you must get rid of Contact-microsoft.com malware as soon as you can. For that, run Reimage and let it scan the system for you. We do not recommend you to search for files related to this malware by yourself because scammers tend to entitle such programs using safe-looking and common file names. It is also recommended to boot the compromised PC into a Safe Mode with Networking before starting Contact-microsoft.com removal procedure.
