CoronaBorealis ads. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Olivia Morelli - - | Type: Adware

Is Corona Borealis a legitimate shopping helper?

Seeming legitimate at first and offering some supposedly useful tools for price comparison on e-commerce websites or coupons for your visited sites, CoronaBorealis is, in fact, a deceptive application. This application has already been added to adware category, so be sure that it will display advertisements regardless whether you want to see them or not. Corona Borealis Ads can be intrusive and browsing efficiency-lowering because their tendency is to underly the original content of the websites you visit in the form of pop-up’s, banners and other ads, displayed on a “virtual layer”. On top of that, clicking on any of these ads may lead you to some suspicious sites featuring infectious contents, which may further contaminate and damage your computer. Due to such activity, this program has been listed as a potentially unwanted program. Therefore, if you notice any advertisements referring to “Ads by Corona Borealis” or “Powered by CoronaBorealis” appear while you are browsing the web, you may have been infected and should consider eliminating this potentially hazardous program from your computer.

Questions about CoronaBorealis ads

Another key feature of this program’s attribution to PUP’s is the stealth installation of this program. Corona Borealis virus may secretly enter your system without your knowledge or consent. Hundreds of other programs like AnyFlix, WebDiscover or Elements Peruse work similarly, by claiming to provide their users with beneficial functions but, in reality, failing to keep their promises, lacking functionality. Besides the lack of functionality, adware-type programs tend to cause other browsing inconveniences and threats, like browser redirects, intrusive advertising and data tracking. Therefore, designed merely to generate revenue for their developers, such bogus programs are not only useless for the users but may also expose the collected users’ information to the misuse of some untrusted sources. To prevent such unwanted activity, you have to remove Corona Borealis from your computer. For that, we recommend Reimage.

How did CoronaBorealis hijack my computer? I did not install it!

It is not surprising that you are wondering why these ads by CoronaBorealis started to intrude your browsing experience. You should try to remember if you have installed any freeware or shareware not a long time ago; this adware program usually is distributed as an attachment to such free programs. Now, we are going to share an essential tip with you how you should install programs to avoid installing suspicious attachments. PUPs are marketed together with legitimate programs because of the bundling method, which means that user downloads a free program without being notified about extra attachments included. To reveal their existence, you have to do some security checks when installing freeware. Be sure to review the Terms or Use and Privacy Policy. These documents usually disclose information about additional programs included. Then all you have to do is to select safe installation method. We recommend selecting either Advanced or Custom mode. You are going to receive another installation setup window, which reveals a list of suggested applications. Remove the tick sign next to them. Then you can finish the setup process. Unfortunately, if you did not know this information before, and if this adware has already occupied your computer, please proceed to the next page to find Corona Borealis removal instructions.
