DigStar Search. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Linas Kiguolis - - | Type: Browser hijacker

DigStar Search was named as a 'virus' by many security researchers. In reality, it's far from this name. It's just an ordinary search site, which is distributed using some unfair distribution techniques. You may be tricked into setting DigStar.com as your start page, default search engine and new tab page when downloading freeware on your computer. If you didn't pay enough attention to its installation process, now you may think that DigStar Search infiltrated your machine. We recommend using more reputable search sites, such as Google or Yahoo, when searching the web. However, you can use this search engine if you don't mind receiving commercial pop-up ads from time to time.

HOW CAN DIGSTAR SEARCH GET INSIDE COMPUTER?

DigStar Search is mostly distributed via its official website or other sites that are involved into promoting it. However, it may also show up on your computer after you download freeware and shareware. In order to avoid that, you should stay away from such programs, or carefully check their installation process and do NOT agree with offers to make digstar.com your start page or default search engine. Once inside and active, DigStar Search shows up on all Internet browsers. If you want to remove it, we recommend following the guide, which is given below:

HOW TO REMOVE DIGSTAR SEARCH?

If you want to get rid of DigStar Search, you have to follow these steps:
