If you wonder how a simple platform full of commercial offers can trick people into installing something, then be aware that it’s quite easy to do. Usually, Fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net pop-up ads contain offers to update popular software, such as Java, Flash Player, Media Player, etc. for free, which may be filled with either redirect links to unknown websites or activation links that once clicked download an adware, such as DealCoaster, YoutubeAdBlocker, CouponDropDown, or any other potentially unwanted program. In addition to that, you may receive tens of commercial advertisements during your browsing session that may also be related to questionable third-party websites. Be aware that Fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net pop-ups are caused by an adware-type program. Therefore, if you start receiving suspicious content from this domain, you should look for unfamiliar programs withing Add/Remove Programs List and remove each of them. Otherwise, you may start experiencing other inconveniences, such as browser’s slowdowns or infiltration of other computer threats. By the way, don’t forget that adware-type programs are capable of tracking its users and accumulating personally non-identifiable information, such as IP address, PC’s location, email address, search terms, websites visited, data entered in them, clicks, and so on. Therefore, if Fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net pop-up virus has already started showing signs of presence on your computer, do not delay its removal. How can Fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net hijack my computer?

Fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net redirects and pop-up ads are caused by an adware-type program. As you might have already heard, adwares tend to spread via software packages. In other words, this type of programs are usually distributed as attachments of various freewares and sharewares that are promoted on various download websites, such as download.com, soft32.com, softtonic.com, and so on. This way, advertisers get the ability to spread ad-supported programs, whereas freeware developers get the ability to monetize their products. Therefore, no surprise that the majority of free programs carry from one to ten ‘additional components’. If you want to end up with the freeware that you have selected, you should start checking freewares before installing them. You should not avoid reading EULA and Privacy Policy sections because it may contain information about advertising and cookies. Besides, you should always opt for Advanced/Custom installation option and NEVER rush the installation. Instead of that, you should read all the terms provided, find pre-check check boxes that contain ‘optional downloads’ and say that you agree to install each of them. Make sure that you uncheck them and only then finish the installation.
