FlightSearch Toolbar. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - - | Type: System tools

I sought to install a flight tracker namely FlightSearch, but instead of it, I’ve received a doubtful toolbar that replaced my web browser’s homepage and search provider. Besides, the entire system seems to be slower than before installing it. So, could you please help me to remove FlightSearch Toolbar along with its search?

Important facts about FlightSearch Toolbar:

FlightSearch Toolbar has been developed by an unpopular company, which is already well-known for distribution of customized toolbars. Unfortunately, each of them is used for promoting Ask and MyWay search sites, which is why security experts have labeled a part of those toolbars as potentially unwanted programs (PUP) while the other part as browser hijackers.

FlightSearch Toolbar also belongs to the category of PUP. If the user agrees to install it, it immediately drops a toolbar on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and sets search.myway.com (customized version of Ask) as a default start page and search provider. Of course, it might be that this toolbar will present users with the flight schedules. However, we can add that in addition to this service, FlightSearch Toolbar can also make people visit websites that they have not been intent to visit. To boost traffic of affiliate sites, the toolbar may render the help of Ask and deliver alleged search results, which is why people may receive sponsored links and advertisements. A noteworthy fact is that the developer does not check or monitor the content that third parties provide, so there is a risk to end up with another computer infection after visiting any of sponsor’s website. To ground this fact, we provide an extract from the official website of this tool:

You hereby acknowledge and agree that by using an MS Product you may be exposed to Content that may be offensive, indecent or objectionable in your community […]
MS Products are exposed to various security issues, and should be regarded as unsecure. By accepting this Agreement, you acknowledge and accept that the MS Products and any information you download or offer to share by means of an MS Product, may be exposed to unauthorized access, interception, corruption, damage or misuse, and should be regarded as insecure. You accept all responsibility for such security risks and any damage resulting therefrom.

FlightSearch Toolbar virus

Why can’t people remember installing this toolbar?

FlightSearch Toolbar is deemed as a PUP and there is a reason for that. If the user does not remember installing it, then most probably that he/she did not install it reasonably. It has been found that this hijacker is typically spread as a free addition to free programs. Note that even reputable download websites like, for instance, Cnet, Softonic, Soft32, etc. may be spreading reliable download managers, media players, PDF creators, and similar software bundled with FlightSearch Toolbar. If it enters your computer in a bundle, we highly recommend using Reimage and checking the system with it because it may be full of PUPs that require removing.

Is it possible to prevent its infiltration?

In general, in order to avoid installation of potentially unwanted programs, it is vital to pay an appropriate amount of attention to the freeware’s installation process. By this, we mean that you should avoid selecting “quick,” “express” installation option because it will only require clicking the ‘next’ button several times. However, this way allows third-party apps, including FlightSearch Toolbar enter computers by default. In contrast, you should select “advanced” or “custom” installation option and carefully check whether your selected freeware carries attachments or not. If it does, untick check marks saying that you agree to install FlightSearch or another toolbar, add-on, plug-in.

Recently, the developer of this program contacted us asking us to remove this post from 2-spyware.com website. We believe that we shouldn’t do that as long as programs that we offer for the removal of FlightSearch Toolbar can detect it and help users to remove it from the system. As it is mentioned under each of download buttons, we ARE affiliated with these anti-malware programs, and while some of them are free, others can remove a virus only after purchasing them. These mentions fully fulfill each of the requirements of FTC.

Nevertheless, we have recently decided to make a revision of this and other posts that are related to this developer. We claim that all of them are described properly.
