Gnj.tooldiv.net popup virus. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as Gnj.tooldiv.net virus, Gnj.tooldiv.net ads | Type: Adware

What is Gnj.tooldiv.net?

Gnj.tooldiv.net is yet another questionable advertising platform, which helps advertisers to display their content during people’s browsing. However, it has also been reported that scammers have started misusing this platform for showing their misleading ads. Beware that these ads may lead you to the infiltration of adware, browser hijackers and similar ad-supported plugins. In fact, if you have been suffering from Gnj.tooldiv.net ads for a while, you should know that they are displayed only when related adware is installed on the system. You can easily download it if you don’t monitor installation of the freeware and simply keep clicking the ‘Next” button when downloading freeware to the system. How can you avoid these potentially unwanted programs? For that you should check the next paragraph of this post. If this adware infiltrates the system, it hijacks each of web browsers. After that, you may notice that you can’t avoid its ads, no matter what browser you decide to use (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, etc.). That’s because adwares are capable of modifying all of them at the same time. After Gnj.tooldiv.net hijacks the system, it may also start causing redirects to affiliate websites and misleading notifications that typically offer downloading various updates (f.e. updates for Java, Flash Player, download manager, one of web browsers, etc.). Do not click on these notifications, because you may be tricked into installing another program, which belongs to adware or potentially unwanted program (PUP) category! If you are experiencing Gnj.tooldiv.net redirects or random notifications, you should avoid them by all means. You should also scan your computer with reliable anti-spyware program, such as Reimage (Windows OS) or Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (Windows and Mac OS X).

How can Gnj.tooldiv.net hijack my computer?

If you are seeing Gnj.tooldiv.net pop-up messages, they may not necessarily indicate that your computer is infected with potentially unwanted program or adware. Corrupted and unsafe websites may also display similar messages in order to make you install unwanted programs. However, in most of the cases people see Gnj.tooldiv.net ads because their computers are affected by adware-type program. Developers of Gnj.tooldiv.net virus are often using unfair distribution methods for transferring their programs to people’s computers without a clear permission asked. In order to avoid that, you should avoid visiting doubtful websites and unfamiliar programs. If you are installing a doubtful program, you should always check the legitimacy of this program. Read comments and reviews from people who have already downloaded it and always choose Custom or Advanced installation for checking what free additions are coming with one or other application.
