Goeaglesearch.com virus: what should you know about this cyber parasite?

Goeaglesearch.com virus is a browser hijacker[1] that might alter settings of various web browsers and force people to use a dubious search engine. The main page of this search tool not only includes a dressed up eagle and a search bar, but links to popular social networks and other sites, and suspicious ads. If you decide to click on the quick links or blank space of the page, you will be redirected to promotional sites. These third-party Internet sites promote questionable software, browser extensions, and toolbars. Go Eagle Search is not a simple and user-friendly search tool. It is designed to generate revenue for the developers and help affiliates to increase traffic to websites or boost sales. Just like any other enterprises, this shady business is also created for generating as many incomes as possible. Thus, you can expect commercial content everywhere, including search results page. Not only this search tool does not accomplish its primary task properly, but might also expose you to various cyber threats.[2] Thus, after hijack, we recommend using Reimage and carrying out automatic Goeaglesearch.com removal.

Seeing all ads with active download buttons warns about possible threats.[3] Indeed, Goeaglesearch.com redirect tendencies are pessimistic. Links, ads and sudden redirects may lead you to the potentially dangerous sites. These Internet websites might be created to spread malware or steal personal details. Staying away from these ads may not be easy because they might aggressively pop-up, do not have an active close button or cover relevant content. In order to avoid possible threats caused by this hijacker, you should remove Goeaglesearch.com from your browser and make sure that other PUPs[4] haven’t been installed on your device as well. The last reason why you should rush with the elimination is that the developers do not provide the Privacy Policy and EULA. Thus, this tool might be spying on your browsing activity or even trying to get access to sensitive information.

When was my browser hijacked?

Go Eagle Search might be suggested to you during freeware[5] installation. All potentially unwanted programs spread bundled with various free programs that you can download from the countless online sources. Thus, if you do not want to get your browser hijacked or install malicious software, you should choose reliable sources for downloads. Goeaglesearch.com hijack might occur if you install a new program under Quick or Recommended settings. It’s time for you to learn that these settings are not reliable because they do not inform about bundled third-party software. If you agree to use this setup, you agree to install all hidden applications as well. So, you need always opt for Custom or Advanced settings. Look through each installation settings carefully, and make sure you do not leave such statements as “I agree to make Goeaglesearch.com my default search engine” pre-selected. Your task is to unmark ticks from each extra application.

What steps should I take in order to get rid of Goeaglesearch.com browser hijacker?

If you tried to use this search tool, probably, you have faced all these problems we talked about: redirects to promotional sites, offers to download questionable tools, and intrusive online ads. There’s no doubt that this search tool is not reliable; thus, you need to remove Goeaglesearch.com without delaying. The quickest method to do that is to employ professional security software and just to scan the system. If you agreed to install this program indirectly, other PUPs might also be residing on the system that should be terminated as well. However, if you prefer, you can get rid of this search engine manually. But we want to point out that manual Goeaglesearch.com removal will require more effort and patience. Though, our prepared guidelines should help you to solve all problems.

You can remove Goeaglesearch.com automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
