Google.com.siteadvisor.club virus — how does it work?

Despite its deceptive title, the Google.com.siteadvisor.club virus is not related to the famous search engine, nor it should be trusted as one. In fact, it is an obscure program which may enter the user’s computers unauthorized and carry out suspicious activities in the background on the system. Luckily, Google.com.siteadvisor.club hijack is easy to spot. Once it occurs, the infected computer’s performance may decrease, the browser may start encountering errors, often become unresponsive or crash. However, these issues are not the signature features from which you will immediately recognize the adware infection. It is Google.com.siteadvisor.club ads. You will soon notice that the extent of these new ads is far from what you are used to be seeing while regularly browsing the web. Different pop-ups, pop-unders, in-texts ads, banners and other advertisements simply flood the browser when adware programs like Google.com.siteadvisor.club overtake the computers. Not only these ads are annoying but along with them follows a number of other problems such as redirects, data tracking, and the danger of infecting the computer with additional viruses. Therefore, it is important to remove Google.com.siteadvisor.club virus from the computer to prevent these problems. You can do that by scanning your computer with a reliable antivirus tool, such as Reimage. This antivirus program will eliminate the virus, clear your system from additional malware that might be hiding on your computer and protect you from the possible cyber attacks in the future.

An illustration of Google.com.siteadvisor.club ads

When infected with the Google.com.siteadvisor.club malware, you should keep in mind that the ads it generates and injects into your browsing results are, in most cases, deceptive. In other words, they may feature one information but, upon interaction redirect you to completely unrelated and suspicious sites. Here is a list of what such ads usually sound like:

Video Player is Ready for Download
Install Media Downloader
Infection was Detected!
Please Install The New Java Update
Important Software Update
New Driver Updates are Released

Neither of these notifications is legitimate and most likely hide redirects to potentially dangerous sites or installation of some infectious software. Therefore, you should not interact with them by any means, because you might end up with additional adware, Trojans, and other malware on your computer.

In addition, to the Google.com.siteadvisor.club redirect issue, this virus may also track your non-personally identifiable data such as browsing results, most visited websites, viewed pages, IP address or similar information. However, there is no guarantee that more sensitive information will not be targeted as well, if not by the adware itself, but by other computer threats to which the Google.com.siteadvisor.club ads may expose the computer’s system.

How can this adware hijack my computer?

Before continuing to the Google.com.siteadvisor.club removal, it is first useful to discuss the ways you can avoid this virus from infecting your computer, because, after all, it is easier to prevent it than eliminating the consequences later. A sophisticated antivirus system is the first and one of the most fundamental steps to be taken to improve your computer’s security. Also, a reliable anti-malware program may be a useful addition too. Secondly, you should keep away from the obscure software download sites because they are often filled with infected software packages. When such package is downloaded, it initially looks like a single program, yet after the installation additional, and not necessarily safe programs may appear on the computer too. To prevent such stealthy installation, you should always opt for the advanced installation settings and opt-out all the unnecessary or suspicious contents of being installed.
