KidStart Savings Prompt is NOT trustworthy. Background information about the app:

Upcoming period of the biggest holiday of the year is the most active time for online advertisers. Naturally, third parties seek to make their websites, services, and gift offers visible. Therefore, they apply both fear and unfair means to make people see what advertisers want them to see. KidStart Savings Prompt is one of the tools that third-party advertising companies use for promoting various stuff no matter whether people are willing to see it or not.

Questions about KidStart Savings Prompt

The application is promoted via official website as a free browser add-on. Take a look at how the developer represents this tool: “KidStart is a free shopping club for parents, grandparents, family, and friends. Once registered, a percentage of what you spend online at hundreds of well-known retailers (and for somewhat you spend in store) will be collected and put by us into your child’s or children’s savings account.” Sounds great, isn’t it? However, security experts warn that things are a little bit different. KidStart Savings Prompt is classified as a potentially harmful software or potentially unwanted program (PUP), so if you install it, your anti-virus may start showing pop-up alerts warning you about the presence of adware.kidstart or PUP.kidstart.

How does this PUP work and why it is considered as potentially harmful?

We can’t assert that KidStart Savings Prompt adware is malicious or that it will certainly harm computers and their operating system. No. We haven’t got proof for that. Nevertheless, some things make this program unwanted.

  • First of all, people started complaining that they are getting KidStart Savings Prompt ads without asking for that. In other words, quite frequently people install this app without knowing this. Our security experts have tested how is that possible. Like the majority of advertising platforms, KidStart Savings Prompt virus is commonly spread bundled with free software. Although such method I legal and can be applied easily, it’s not fair to make people use unwanted tools by force, isn’t it?
  • Second of all, “Ads by KidStart Savings Prompt” are really questionable. This application promises its users to keep them informed about the latest and biggest discounts related to the kids, maternity, newborns, various parental-related services, and so on. Unfortunately, but KidStart Savings Prompt ads (pop-up ads, banner ads, in-text links, interstitials, pop-under ads, full-page ads, etc.) are very irritating. On top of that, the majority of them are irrelevant and redirect people to questionable/potentially harmful pages where other ad-supported apps are promoted.
  • Third of all, KidStart Savings Prompt malware partially works as a browser hijacker. Although it does not corrupt start page and search provider, it can modify search results, what means that people may start receiving sponsored links in the priority. As we’ve mentioned, KidStart Savings Prompt redirects can make people visit irrelevant websites of the sponsored, so it’s better not to trust the links and advertisements brought by this application.
  • Finally, very carefully consider whether you mind or don’t mind the fact of being tracked. KidStart Savings Prompt add-on uses tracking cookie to find what pages the user visits and what kind of content attracts his/her attention the most. Unfortunately, but some pieces of personally identifiable information may also be collected and shared with third parties. Due to all these reasons, we highly recommend you to remove KidStart Savings Prompt virus and not rely on ad-supported apps at all. For this purpose, you can use Reimage. (Manual removal guide is provided in the Page2).
