What is MobilePCStarterKit?

Created by Tuto4Pc, MobilePCStarterKit is a free app that has been recently labeled as an adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It is promoted as a useful web browser add-on that is supposed to enhance users' experience while surfing the net. It may be installed not only on computers but also has a mobile version. Despite the fact that it may seem useful and trustworthy, the fact that it's distributed using misleading marketing technique that is known as 'bundling' signals that it should not be trusted. In fact, MobilePCStarterKit can infiltrate computers via freewares without asking for user's permission directly. Have you installed this program bundled with another freeware? If yes, we recommend you to eliminate it ASAP using a reputable anti-spyware, such as Reimage before it causes serious computer-related issues. If it manages to infiltrate a computer, it may install cookies on all most popular web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer) and start collecting information about user's browsing habits. Such information includes: PC's IP address and location, URLs visited, data entered and time spent on them, search terms, email address, and similar personally non-identifiable information. Even though such information is not treated as sensitive, it may cause serious issues or even identity theft. Finally, security experts warn about misleading MobilePCStarterKit ads. In most of the cases, this app generates pop-up, pop-under, banner, and in-text advertisements. Unfortunately, emergence of these ads is a sign that you computer is affected by a suspicious program that is associated with third parties and affiliate marketing. It means that 'Ads by MobilePCStarterKit' may be used for promoting third-party websites some of which may be filled with misleading or even malicious content. The most reliable way to keep your computer safe is to install a reputable anti-spyware and keep it up-to-date.

How can MobilePCStarterKit hijack my computer?

MobilePCStarterKit is a typical adware that is mainly used by third parties for generating their income. There are a lot of programs similar to this adware about which we have already discussed in our blog, for instance: Mountain Bike, Boost, Rocket Deal and many others. Security experts agree upon the fact that the majority of adwares are distributed using 'bundling'. It's a legitimate marketing technique that enables third-party apps (add-ons, plug-ins, toolbars, extensions) to spread as additional components along with various freewares and sharewares. Therefore, you may install MobilePCStarterKit adware with, for example, torrent client or any other program that is frequently used on the Internet for free. Research has shown that websites that are most frequently involved in the distribution of 'bundles' are dowload.com, softonic.com, soft32.com among many other. Besides, you should avoid installing programs from Cnet, Softonic or other similar third-party installers. In order to find out if the program that you have selected is filled with 'optional downloads', you should prefer the more customizable installation process (Advanced/Custom installation) because it will allow you to take control over the installation process and deselect the programs that are offered to you as 'optional downloads'. If you have already experienced MobilePCStarterKit redirects, then take needed actions and get rid of this adware without any delay. For that, follow the guide:
